Euro 2008 - Van Persie desperate for more match time

Hoenderloo, - Robin van Persie has asked the Holland coach Marco van Basten extra practice equivalent to that of the Dutch to continue their preparations for Euro 2008.
Arsenal striker played only 13 games last season because of thigh injury and missed all three of Holland friendlies, the build-up tournament which begins on June 9, the Oranje a meeting with Italy.
"I have asked the coach an extra warm-up match," Van Persie told Voetbal International. "If needed, the form of the game during the training.
"But the extra match against a team, which is the neighbourhood is also okay with me.
"It would be ideal for me, if it can be done, but I do not understand that the coach has to think about other players too much.
"It has to fit into the whole picture, of course.
